Hi, I used to foster cats and kittens for my local cat rescue but unfortunately, after 2 years of doing it, I got to know things about the rescue's owner that I didn't like and decided to stop fostering. If you visit the old posts on my blog you'll understand a bit more. Anyway, I would love to work with animals or foster again but unfortunately I live in the UK. I used to tame the timid ones, hand-raise abandoned/orphaned kittens and I gave it everything I had and I loved it. I hope I can do it again but for a different rescue or work somewhere with animals this year. I should mention, I have 3 dogs (2 were rescues and 1 was my sister's but she couldn't handle her), 6 cats (2 are mine and 4 are Mum's; we have 1 each from fostering), 1 budgie, 1 cockatiel and 1 hamster. We (Mum, my sister and I) are hoping to move to a better house sometime this year and we would like to rescue animals...well, Mum and I would but my sister doesn't like animals very much! LOL It is nice to see the animals experiencing a "normal" life instead of being stuck in cages or kennels all the time. When I fostered, they had to have cages to keep them separated, so that the mums wouldn't fight but every single day they had their own times out, playing, climbing etc. It was nice to see the kittens grow up. I wish you all the luck in the world and would like to say a big well done and hope you and all the animals have a Happy New Year! All the best, from Meg (the kittens' mother) xxx
